The characteristics of rubber accelerator technology development

rubberIn recent years, varieties and dosages of vulcanization accelerator demands increase continuously with the rapid development of rubber industry, especially tire industry and automotive rubber parts products industry. Through the efforts of China’s vulcanization accelerator industry, production and quality of accelerators improve year by year, which not only satisfies the domestic market, but also the abroad market.

At present, accelerator technology development characteristics are mainly reflected in two aspects.

The development of new products and formulations

In order to adapt to the radial tire industry raw materials of domestic demand, N-tert-butyl-2-benzothiazole sulfenamide (TBBS), N-tert-butyl-bis (2-benzothiazole) sulfenamide and other new accelerator products are developed. And a steady industrialized production is set up to meet the needs of the domestic and international markets.

In order to reduce dust pollution, manufacturers use new technologies and equipment to produce granular accelerator and accelerator rubber masterbatch, or use the surfactant to treat the surface of accelerator. These measures are conducive to human health and reduce environmental pollution.

Today cleaning, sanitation and safety of chemical additives are a matter of great concern, so the overall development trend of rubber vulcanization accelerator is toward the directions of high performance, non-toxic and environmentally friendly. Specific technical measures are: 1)Introducing large molecular weight substituent group to original structure(such as sulfonamide, thiuram), developing innovative product which can stay stable under high temperature、nonvolatile, perform stable; 2)The development of new type of vulcanization accelerator is aimed at improving vulcanization properties(shorten curing time, improve physical and mechanical properties) ,and scorch safety.
